Unique Futuristic Oasis
The Unique Futuristic Oasis, Inc. or UFO (pronounced U-fo)
is a
newly formed California Public Benefit Corporation with the principal
office located in Folsom, California.
It is named after the club where the band, the Pink Floyd, began their career. The purpose of the UFO is to promote
art
and
education,
and to raise funds
for community programs that can increase
awareness and the flow of creative
ideas in communities for better living.
The UFO supports programs that educate and enrich, and
sponsors
events that
provide the general public with opportunities
to spring
forward creative ideas.
The UFO Club supports charitable and
innovative community activities and events, such as
multi-cultural
music
and
art
gatherings that are fun and raise awareness for important causes.
The main focus of the UFO is to produce and promote educational
events
and
festivals that allow the public to explore themselves with art, music
and
science, in order to encourage mental wellbeing.
The UFO Club feels that
re-creation time in the arts is vital to the mental wellbeing of all people. It is
important for communities to have activities that are socially inclusive, removing
barriers
from
creative self-expression, and allowing for connection with others.
The UFO Club has a long term goal of raising funding to establish two permanent
facilities dedicated to our purpose. One, in the fashion of the famous
Pink Floyd UFO Club to be located in Folsom, California,
and the second, The Syd Barrett Centre for Socially Inclusive Arts
to be located in Barrett’s home town of Cambridge, England.
